When you squint or frown, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines.
We inject a small amount of XEOMIN® into the muscles that create the wrinkles. Injection of XEOMIN into the muscles under facial wrinkles causes relaxation of those muscles, resulting in the smoothing of the overlying skin.
As the muscle weakens, the treated areas begin to relax and the wrinkles in the skin become less visible and often disappear altogether.
Smoothing of wrinkles is usually visible three days after treatment and is maximally visible two weeks following injection. The treated muscles gradually regain function, and generally return to their former appearance three to four months after treatment. Muscles can be treated repeatedly to maintain the smoothed appearance.
Xeomin contains no bounding albumin protein. This keeps its molecules pure, minimizing chances of allergic reactions.
