How to Fight Obesity and Being Overweight?

Did you know, that medically, obesity is described as a chronic relapsing condition? It happens when a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health.

There are different types of obesity:

  • Inactivity obesity

  • Food obesity

  • Venous obesity

  • Atherogenic obesity

  • Gluten obesity

Worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980. Now 30% of the world’s population is obese or overweight. Obesity and overweight are the 5th leading risk for global deaths.

Obesity causes high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, diabetes, heart diseases, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, kidney diseases, pregnancy problems. Overweight increases the risk of developing cancer and the risk of stroke.

Causes of Obesity:

  • Poor diet

  • Lack of physical activity

  • Genetics

  • Alcohol consumption

Obesity Prevention:

  • Exercise regularly

  • Follow a healthy eating plan

  • Limit sugar intake

  • Maintain a healthy BMI ratio
